We are now days away from sending out the first wave of beta invitations. Over the past few weeks, I completed roughly 50 one-on-one interviews and reviewed 230 applications. From that process, we selected a core group of 25 members who share a very specific mindset: ambitious about their health, eager to use data, and excited to work with wearables, smart scales, blood pressure monitors, and even CGMs to build a continuous picture of their biology inside OneTwenty. We’re finishing several final software fixes and polishing the onboarding flow. Once complete, we will begin activating accounts in small batches of 2–5 people per day to ensure every member experiences a smooth rollout.
Below is the updated Cohort 1 Profile, which now includes the expanded application numbers and the refined breakdown from interviews and intake data. These insights will get sharper once the full spreadsheet is uploaded and analyzed.
Closed Beta Cohort Breakdown
We received 255 applications, completed 50 interviews, and have 13 more scheduled for next week. Due to capacity constraints and the need for controlled data collection, the closed beta is capped at 25 participants. Additional users will only be added when we require specific test data such as Whoop users, individuals on HRT, or participants with unique device or condition profiles that expand dataset diversity.
Closed Beta Cohort Analysis: The High-Commitment, Longevity-Focused User
Executive Summary
The closed beta cohort consists primarily of established, middle-aged individuals (average age 48) who are deeply invested in proactive health and longevity. These users represent a high-value segment, with most spending over $500 annually on health and wellness. Their top pain points center on energy, hormone optimization, and sleep/recovery. The strongest positioning resonates around measurable improvements to these foundations, layered under the larger aspirational goal of improved long-term health and lifespan.
1. Cohort Demographics and Financial Commitment: Age Profile: An Established, Focused Demographic
The cohort skews mature, with a clear concentration in ages where longevity and prevention become priority concerns. They are experienced, data-inclined, and willing to invest in optimizing their health trajectory.
Average age: 48.3
Age range: 24 to 68
Largest groups: 50s (6 people), 60s (5 people)

Health Spending: A High-Value Segment
The financial data indicates that this group already spends significantly on their health and wellness, validating a premium offering.
16 out of 21 people spent more than $500 last year
The two top spending brackets ($500–$2,000 and $2,000+) each include 8 people
Only 2 participants spent under $100

2. Core Pain Points and Desired Solutions: Biggest Health Problems and Challenges
Participants consistently described issues rooted in core physiological systems. These themes directly align with the early clinical focus of OneTwenty.
Energy deficiencies were the most common (5 mentions)
Blood sugar, triglycerides, and gut health/digestive concerns appeared multiple times
Recovery and sleep issues were repeatedly mentioned and often paired with overtraining or fitness burnout

What They Want Help With
User goals strongly reinforce the same functional categories, showing clear demand for outcomes your platform directly addresses.
Longevity and prevention: selected by 20 out of 21
More energy during the day: 15 mentions
Optimized hormones: 12 mentions
Better sleep and recovery: 10 mentions

3. Wearable Technology Usage: Smartwatches vs. Dedicated Trackers
This cohort uses a mix of general-purpose and specialized wearable devices, signaling a preference for convenience with an appetite for deeper biometrics.
Apple Watch and Garmin account for 12 total devices
Whoop and Oura account for 7 devices combined
Apple Watch is the clear leader with 7 users

What's Next
We couldn't be more excited to get started. This cohort represents exactly the kind of engaged, data-driven individuals who will help us refine OneTwenty into something truly transformative. Over the next few weeks, we'll be onboarding members in small groups, gathering feedback at every step, and working closely with each participant to ensure they get the most out of the platform from day one.
This is just the beginning. Let's build something remarkable together.
